Trailers
Platform
A basic trailer
comprises a simple flat deck mounted atop a set of
wheels. With due consideration to the types and weights
of loads that these vehicles are called upon to transport, the
legal issues involved in traveling according to
existing rules and regulations, the means of safely
fastening the load while building the product to
last while operating in a most efficient manner, means
that it is not as simple as it looks. You can be certain
that a Durabody designed trailer will be a complex collection
of the best components assembled to meet your needs. It will be designed and
built to operate as trouble-free as possible keeping in mind
the harsh conditions that these vehicles are called upon to work in.
Drop-deck
A slight variation of the
one level platform trailer is the drop-deck. The foredeck
is designed to hook normally to a standard height
fifth wheel while the lower deck can accommodate taller "high-cube"
loads. Durabody
has built both single and double drop trailers as
required.
Curtainside
Like its sister product, the
curtainside truck body, the curtainside trailer offers the
flexibility of an open deck trailer with the load protection
of a dry van. Curtain configurations are available for any of our flat deck products.
Graphics and logos can be incorporated in the curtain design
which is
optimized for aesthetics as well as durability along with
functionality.
FRP Dry Van
With the use of 7/8" FRP
wall panels, the FRP dry van trailer offers a greater interior
clearance to accommodate loads than an aluminum trailer.
The Durabody designed lower main rail clamps the wall
panels ensuring a continuous and equal distribution
of force to maintain the integrity of the trailer shell
throughout the lifetime of the product. This clamping
action provides for a continuous seal between the
wall panels and the frame reducing any leakage of air or
water that might seep between the rivets that normally hold
panels of competing products together. An elastomeric
butyl tape sandwiched between the panel and the rail
perfects the seal. All of our products use electrically neutral
barrier membranes to
isolate dissimilar metals thus reducing rust and corrosion due to
electrolysis.
Drop-frame
High cube load requirements
lead to designs made specifically to accommodate low weight
loads requiring greater interior volumes. By dropping
the floor of a dry van trailer as low as legally possible;
Durabody trailers can accommodate such requirements.
Moving vans are an example of this type of product where the
"family furniture" is considered a light load requiring a lot of room
to store safely while in transit. For this type of
application, single
and double drop dry vans are perfect for the
job.
Insulated
With the addition of
insulation and appropriate liners, our dry van trailers,
already air tight and sealed from the environment, become
ideal to carry temperature sensitive cargo. The addition
of commercially available reefers and heaters, thermal
barriers and precision control area-sensors allow for single or
multiple temperature zones where cargo requiring freezing, chilling or heating can be kept
at their ideal storage temperature no matter what the conditions are
outside.
Specialized
Because we design and build
all of our products, Durabody has the flexibility to manufacture highly customized trailers to suit the needs
of highly specialized applications. Whether we simply modify an existing
production trailer
or design one from an idea, we can accommodate your
needs. |
